Meet The Team // Brian

Brian Wysong Co-Founder Tumbleweed TexStyles

Tell us where you grew up and a little about your background...

I was raised in Fort Worth, spending most of my time playing sports, socializing with friends, and dreaming about my one-day business ventures. I grew up in a military family that stressed hard work, discipline, and the pursuit of dreams which molded my drive and work ethic. I ended up getting my Marketing Degree at Texas Tech University. Directly out of college, I became a marketing director of a large non-profit organization, which opened the door to becoming the marketing coordinator and account executive at a branding and marketing agency in Dallas.  Shortly after, I found myself as a marketing teacher and coach in Frisco, Texas. It was this career change that led me to meet Jeb Matulich. Later on, Jeb and I launched Tumbleweed TexStyles in 2011.

What is your role in TWT?

Co-founder & President --- I oversee the operations, marketing, branding, accounting and human resources for Tumbleweed TexStyles.

What is your current go-to TWT product?

My favorite TWT product has to be our Tumbleweed snap shirt from our Pioneer Collection. It is awesome. My favorite t-shirt design currently has to be our chief or buffalo design.

Current song you could listen to on repeat all day?

No specific song comes to mind right now. I have an eclectic taste in music. I am currently digging Glass Animals, Post Malone, Parker McCollum and Charley Crockett. Although, I always dig songs from the Turnpike Troubadours, Ryan Bingham, Modest Mouse, CCR, Bob Dylan, Nelly and Snoop Dog.

What is a weird or hidden talent you have?

Oh goodness. A totally random thing is probably that I have a picture perfect memory of people's faces. I can be at a restaurant and see a person walk by and will be able to remember who they are and where I last saw their face.

What are you currently binging on Netflix?

Right now, my wife and I are trying to squeeze in as many episodes of Yellowstone with Kevin Costner after we put our kids to sleep. It has great Texas tunes in that show.

Would you rather have a dog or a cat as a pet?

Would you rather have a dog or a cat as a pet?  --- This is easy. I am most definitely a dog kind of person. I love how dogs are always there for you. Loyal, happy and protective. I had an amazing dog named Elle. She was truly a best friend and it was always a blast taking her out with the family to our parent's land and watch her run free.

What would you say is your idea of a perfect vacation?

I am a conqueror. So I love going on vacations where my wife and I can hustle around a new place and explore new finds. Whether that be historical locations, restaurants, shopping, local breweries or cultural districts. Although, the place I like to vacate is getting away from the city at a ranch or in the mountains where we can sit by a campfire, hike, enjoy fresh air, drink our favorite beverage and play games with family and friends. Good food is always a plus.
