Paloma Recipe Tumbleweed TexStyles

This Paloma Recipe is one of our team's favorites and is perfect for Valentine's Day. Impress your spouse or friends with this easy and quick Paloma recipe. If you are not familiar with the Paloma, it is a tequila cocktail similar to Ranch Water, but is made predominately with grapefruit juice instead of lime juice. The drink has origins in Mexico but has become widely popular among Texans. A lot of people outside of the state have yet to hear about this newfound beverage. If tequila is not your thing we have also made adjustments for a Paloma mocktail in the ingredients below.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Don Julio tequila (sub for 2 add'l ounces of Topo Chico if making a mocktail)
  • 2 ounces fresh grapefruit juice, plus wedges for garnish
  • 2 ounces Topo Chico
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • ¼ ounce simple syrup
  • Coarse sea salt, for the rim of the glasses
  • Ice

Directions

  1. Use a grapefruit wedge to rub against the edge of your glass then proceed to salt the rim by dipping it onto a small plate of salt.
  2. Mix the tequila (or add'l Topo Chico), grapefruit juice, Topo Chico, lime juice, and simple syrup into the glass.
  3. Fill the remainder of the glass with ice. Adjust sweetness to your taste preference.
  4. Garnish with grapefruit wedge and enjoy!
