Brian Wysong

CEO & Co-Founder

Brian Wysong grew up in Fort Worth, spending most of his time playing sports, socializing with friends, and dreaming about his one-day business ventures. At the young age of three years old, Brian was trying to sell things and promote his ideas to anyone that would listen.  

That entrepreneurial spirit and vibrant passion for life stayed with Brian as he entered each stage of his life. His drive and work ethic were molded as he grew up in a military family that stressed hard work, discipline, and the pursuit of dreams. One such dream was to get a Marketing Degree; a dream fulfilled when Brian graduated from Texas Tech University. While at Tech, Brian continued to dream big and develop a true passion for helping others. Directly out of college, Brian became a marketing director of a large non-profit organization, which opened the door to becoming the marketing coordinator and account executive at a branding and marketing agency in Dallas. In addition, Brian ventured into some side hustles where he started multiple businesses in various industries including music promotion & management, Talent agency and a photography business with his wife Hillary. Brian knew that he could use his skills in marketing along with his tenacious spirit to reach a wider audience and he chose to embark on a career change. Brian soon found himself as a marketing teacher and coach in Frisco, Texas. It was this career change that led him to meet Jeb Matulich; a fellow educator with the shared passion for Texas, art, music and design, and the two men launched Tumbleweed TexStyles in the fall of 2011.  

Now, Brian is full time with Tumbleweed TexStyles and hopes to take the business to the next level. Brian’s biggest passions continue to be his faith, helping people, building and promoting his business, and traveling all over the great state of Texas with his wife, daughter and two sons, and making sure to find the time to stop at all the local music spots along the way.

Meet Brian: 

  • Where in Texas are you from and where do you live now? I grew up in Fort Worth and was lucky to have attended the the same K-12 schools in Crowley ISD. I then moved out to Lubbock to attend college at Texas Tech. My wife and I got married in Lubbock and then moved to Frisco, where we still reside.
  • What did you study at Texas Tech? Business Administration with a focus on Marketing.
  • What is your favorite BBQ joint? This is a hard question, so I have to list my top 5. I have attended 19 of Daniel Vaughn’s top 50 BBQ joints along with many others that were not ranked or open for business at that time. My local go to spot is definitely Hutchins BBQ in Frisco. I also love Guess Family BBQ in Waco, Franklin’s BBQ in Austin, Truth BBQ in Brenham and Heim’s BBQ in Fort Worth.
  • Who are your favorite Texas musicians or bands? There are so many talented and entertaining musicians from Texas. Although, here are some of my favorites: Ryan Bingham, Leon Bridges, Buddy Holly, LeCrae, Kari Jobe, WIllie Nelson, David Crowder, Shakey Graves and The Old 97’s.
